On Thursday 4th September, The Spanish Chamber welcomed their members back from summertime with a special drinks reception. For this, the Chamber teamed up with Beefeater 24, kind sponsor of the event and their new global partner, Hackett.
This time we were reunited at the magnificent Hackett flagship store at the heart of Regent’s Street. This boutique shop could be considered a masterpiece for its combinations of British style and gentleman’s fashion. With three floors and a wide variety of genuine men clothing and accessories, attendees had the store for themselves to walk around and discover Hackett’s new trends for autumn 2014.
The main event was set on the 2nd floor, where Hackett in collaboration with Beefeater 24 has allocated a great bar that is open and available for clients to enjoy Beefeater 24 delicious tasteful creations all year round. So guests did! They were welcomed on arrival with a selected variety of gin cocktails prepared by master bartenders and served by waiters who kindly explained each drink to all who were interested, detailing ingredients and the mixture of the bespoke drinks along with the techniques they use to make them. Everybody had the chance to indulge themselves by trying the three different cocktails designed for the night: a classic Gin tonic with a citrus twist, a juicy Lemon Gin and a bittersweet Rosy Lee.
One of the highlights of the evening was the speech of Beefeater 24’s Master Distiller, Desmond Payne, who was kindly introduced by the Secretary General of the Chamber, Igor Urra, and thanked everybody who was able to join the Chamber and contribute to make the most out of the evening.
Desmond Payne has been making gin for over 40 years. At Beefeater 24 London Distillery, currently located in the Kennington area, he acts as the guardian of James Burrough’s original gin recipe, developed in the 1820s which still remains strong and key to the success of the brand nowadays.
After Mr. Payne’s speech, people mingled and some of our guests took the opportunity to get some professional tailoring and fashion advice by Hackett staff members who guided them through the new trends. Besides that, guests of the Spanish Chamber were also provided with an exclusive 15% discount in any purchases on the night and had the chance to take the flavours of the night home bottled in miniatures of Beefeater 24.
We would like to express our gratitude to members and colleagues from the Spanish Chamber who attended and especially to Beefeater 24 team and Hackett for their hard work, effort and aim to produce such a magnificent event.
